Alok School is a specialized school for children from low-income homes with the learning disabilities ADD, ADHD, and Dyslexia. With the support, Alok School hires expert teachers who aim to prepare these children to eventually reintegrate into regular schooling.
This project is executed in Cherag Ali, Tongi, Gazipur and affect children of the age group of 5 to 14 years of 64 low-income families.
The children in their care would otherwise not be enrolled in schools at all, since their parents are not able to afford specialized schooling and care.
Till date, Daraz Bangladesh spends around Tk. 10 lakhs annually (30 lakhs over the last 3 years) to maintain the upkeep and salaries of teachers of Alok School
I had no idea what to do with my son. When he was diagnosed with ADD and ADHD, the
doctors said he can never read again. He is now 8 years old, and we saw him finish his first

- None of the parents enrolled in the schools do not have enough income to
afford proper therapy or regular classes - 8 students from the school have already been successfully admitted to regular
schools after catching up with the extra attention they receive
