CSR Awards Finalists 2022: How Epyllion Group’s “Noyon Tori” Provides Free Eyecare to Marginalised People
In partnership with Manabik Shahajya Shanghtha (ECP-MSS), the fully equipped ambulance made Mobile Eye Clinic named Noyon Tori travels to remote rural locations to provide comprehensive eye care services to the underserved and identify cataract patients for surgery to restore their sight free of cost.

Noyon Tori, a free mobile eye ambulance, was established to identify and treat preventable blindness among the underprivileged, promote community awareness and education on eye health and to increase capacity and access to eye care services.

In partnership with Manabik Shahajya Shanghtha (ECP-MSS), the fully equipped ambulance made Mobile Eye Clinic named “Noyon Tori travels to remote rural locations to provide comprehensive eye care services to the underserved and identify cataract patients for surgery to restore their sight free of cost.

To achieve its goals, the ECP-MSS conducts eye camps in remote rural areas to provide eye care services to the underserved population, identify and operate cataract patients to restore their sight, and conducts eye care awareness activities.

During the first year of launch (2019) alone, with Noyon Tori 81 eye camps were conducted where 14063 underserved people were screened and received free eye care services. A total of 1226 spectacles and 1462 medicines were given out. From these eye camps 587 surgeries were performed at our partner hospitals – Shafiuddin Ahmed Foundation (SAF) – Thakurgaon and Prime Bank Eye Hospital, Dhaka. Mentionable that most of these camps were held in far flung areas approximately 330km to over 400km from Dhaka.

Till date, 123 were free eye camps held in 12 districts. 20,800+ patients given free diagnosis, 2,500+ free cataract surgeries funded and 3,800+ free prescribed eyeglasses were given out.
